Dyma Fernandez

Mrs. Dyma Fernandez graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. In addition, she is also ESOL Endorsed and Reading K-12 Endorsed. Her teaching career started in 1996 where she taught 6th grade at Charles R. Drew Middle School. From there she moved on the district office as a Teacher on Special Assignment to coordinate Project UpStart, a Homeless Children and Youth Program. She eventually moved to Broward County and took a position with Somerset Academy. She has experience in a variety of areas within the school system; from teaching elementary, middle, and high school Reading/Language Arts, to Reading Interventionist, Reading Coach and Test Coordinator.  This was her first year in Mater Academy Virtual. She taught Grades 4 and 5 and ran the Yoga/Exercise club after school.
